Peer Review Process

The review process for submitted papers to Prosiding SENALA: Seminar Nasional Linguistik Indonesia involves a double-blind method where the identities of both reviewers and authors are kept confidential to ensure objectivity. All papers submitted to this journal will go through some phases of review process:

  • Initial Selection: All submitted papers must undergo an expert review process to ensure academic quality and relevance. Only papers that pass the expert selection will be invited for presentation at the seminar. Accepted and presented papers will then be eligible for submission to the official proceedings.
  • Submission Stage: Authors submit their papers which then undergo an administrative check that includes a plagiarism check (Turnitin results must not exceed 20%), scope appropriateness (focusing on digital literary studies), proportional structure of the article (title, abstract, introduction, method, results, discussion, and conclusion), and adherence to the APA 7th Edition style.
  • Editorial board review: Papers that pass the initial screening are then evaluated by the editorial board, which checks the alignment of the article with four key elements—change, controversy, trends, and emergency—related to the journal’s main theme, ‘Digital Literature Today'.
  • Reviewer stage: Successfully screened papers move to the reviewer stage, lasting from one to six months, involving at least two reviewers in a continued blind review process.
  • Editorial board and advisory editor stage: Post-review, the editorial board and advisory editors assess the reviewers' feedback and decide whether further revisions are necessary.
  • Editor in Chief decision: The Editor in Chief makes the final decision on the paper's acceptance based on inputs from the editorial board and advisory editor.
  • Copy editing and proofreading: Approved papers proceed to the copy-editing phase where the author finalizes the draft and submits additional required documents such as the Curriculum Vitae and Copyright Agreement. This is followed by a final proofreading before publication.

This process ensures a thorough review and refinement, aligning submissions closely with the journal’s standards and themes.
