Screening Plagiarism

Prosiding SENALA: Seminar Nasional Linguistik Indonesia enforces a strict no-plagiarism policy. Authors are required to verify the originality of their manuscript using a plagiarism checker application prior to submission. This proceeding utilizes Turnitin, a renowned plagiarism detection tool, to screen all submissions for plagiarism and self-plagiarism. Any manuscript found to breach these standards will be rejected outright and returned to the authors for correction.

This proceeding emphasizes adherence to international academic integrity standards, particularly concerning plagiarism. Plagiarism includes the unauthorized use of ideas, information, or direct quotations from another source without appropriate attribution. This holds true regardless of whether the plagiarism is intentional or accidental; it is considered a grave academic offense and is not tolerated in scholarly publications.

For accurate referencing:

• Specific information extracted from a source, such as names, dates, places, statistics, or detailed data, must always be credited appropriately.
• When adopting an idea from another author, even if the idea is expanded upon or developed further, the original source must be cited. This could pertain to methodology, data interpretation, broader field developments, or general information.
• Direct quotations must be enclosed in quotation marks if they are four or more consecutive words taken from another source, and a citation must be included. Simply citing the source without using quotation marks is insufficient for direct quotations.
