Analisis Deiksis Persona dalam Teks Berita Demonstrasi Tuntutan 17+8 Tahun 2025

Abstract

The media’s linguistic framing plays a pivotal role in shaping public understanding of socio-political events, particularly through the strategic use of personal deixis in news discourse. This study aims to (1) examine the frequency of personal deixis in news reports covering the 2025 “17+8” protest movement in Indonesia, and (2) analyze the pragmatic functions of these pronouns in influencing readers’ perspectives as the news circulated widely across digital platforms. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining big-data techniques to calculate the distribution of personal pronouns with pragmatic analysis to interpret their communicative functions. The dataset consists of news articles published between 20 August and 10 September 2025 from major Indonesian portals—CNN Indonesia, Tempo, Kompas, Detik, Jawa Pos, and Liputan 6. The corpus was processed using AntConc to identify pronoun patterns, followed by qualitative interpretation to determine their pragmatic roles within the discourse. The results reveal a clear dominance of first-person plural pronouns (kami, kita), while second-person singular forms (kamu, engkau, Anda) appear least frequently. These deixis choices function to construct solidarity, delineate social distance, and reinforce power relations within the narrative of the movement. The study concludes that personal deixis is not merely grammatical but a strategic linguistic tool that shapes ideological positioning in media coverage, underscoring its significance in understanding public discourse on social movements.
